Sand Dollar and Bonaire Dive & Adventure Team Up Again to Host the Third Annual Fish ID Challenge
 
 Sand Dollar and Bonaire Dive & Adventure will be hosting of the Third Annual Fish ID Challenge
July 31 - August 6 and August 7 – 13, free of charge. Joining us for the third year in a row will be Fish ID experts Patti & Scott Chandler of ReefNet, Inc.

The Free Fish ID Challenge program includes:

  • Multimedia Fish ID seminars

  • Guided Dives with the Chandlers and Bonaire Dive & Adventure's Naturalist Jerry Ligon

Tiara Air Offers New Options For Travel Between Aruba and Bonaire

Tiara Air has announced they will be adding more flights to their Aruba Bonaire schedule. They have also revised the schedule to accommodate earlier morning flights and added a new evening flight which allows travelers to make connections to and from the US and Venezuela via Aruba on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Travelers destined for the US also have a new option for flights from (but not to) the States on Sundays.


Insel Air offers Saturday direct flights from Miami to Bonaire. MIA-BON Outbound Flight #908 departs MIA at 3:55 PM and arrives in Bonaire at 6:55 PM, the return flight #907 departs Bonaire at 11:25 AM and arrives in Miami at 2:25 PM, offering plenty of time to make late afternoon connecting flights. 

Continental Airlines offers direct flights to Bonaire from Newark New Jersey and Houston Texas. Flight #1553 departs Newark at 11:55 PM every Saturday night and arrives on Bonaire Sunday morning at 4:12 AM. Return Continental flight #1556 departs Bonaire at 6:00 AM Sunday arriving at 10:44 AM in Newark.


Flight  #1898 departs Houston at 11:30 PM every Friday and Saturday, arriving on Bonaire the next morning at 5:00 AM. Continental flight #1899 will then depart Bonaire at 7:30 AM each Saturday and Sunday, arriving in Houston at 11:20 AM. Continental passengers are reminded that they need to book their condos for the night before their arrival date to ensure early morning access prior to the standard 3:00 PM check in time!

 Delta Airlines flies direct Atlanta/Bonaire every Saturday. Flight #0663 departs Atlanta at 9:40 AM arriving in Bonaire at 1:50 PM.  The return flight departs Bonaire at 3:10 PM arriving in Atlanta at 7:42 PM.

KLM offers direct flights from Amsterdam to Bonaire several times each week.

Bonaire Dive Into Summer Program Begins

The fourth Bonaire Dive Into Summer, taking place from June through September 2010, features a myriad of activities. Throughout the summer there will be guest speakers, special events and activities focusing on diving, featuring eco-oriented activities, music and lots of good fun. Highlights include:

Dia di Arte (Art Day) July 4, 2010: a day filled with art, music, and cultural happenings. It's a day when visitors can feel like an islander and dance to the local beat, sample authentic cuisine, and rub elbows with the entire Bonaire community. This is the 18th year for this event, taking place in Wilhelmina Park from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM.

On July 10th, Dive Friends Bonaire and NetTech N.V. will host an underwater clean up in Bonaire's yacht anchorage. Everyone is welcome to join in, including divers, snorkelers, or those who wish to help with land support. After the cleanup, a BBQ is planned for all participants. From July 28th through August 1st, the Sixth Annual Starboard Pro Kids Freestyle World Championship will be held, when young, internationally recognized windsurfers from around the world gather to compete at Bonaire's windy Lac Bay. For more information, visit www.prokidsfreestyle.com.
