Airlift to Bonaire Gets Another Boost!

Insel Air, a Curacao-based airline, has announced that it will start flying non-stop between Miami and Bonaire on a weekly basis starting on July 4th.

The weekly flight will take place every Saturday throughout the year. Insel Air flight #7I 907 will depart Bonaire at 11:55 a.m. arriving into Miami at 3:05 p.m. The return flight #7I 908 will depart Miami at 4:25 p.m. arriving into Bonaire at 7:35 p.m. Insel Air will use either an MD 82 or MD 83 aircraft configured with 152 economy seats.

The 5th Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival: June 4th - 7th

Join your fellow vacationers at the 5th Annual Bonaire Jazz Fest, where a variety of music styles will be heard around the island when internationally famous musicians mingle with the island's local bands starting early evening with after parties at Sense that will keep the music playing well into the night.

Opening of the Festival is at Fort Oranje at 7:30 PM, admission at the entrance is approximately $8.45 or 15ANG; Main Concerts are at the Plaza Resort Bonaire (Tipsy Seagull) starting at 7:30 PM; tickets are approximately $20.00 or 35 ANG; Jazzbrunch at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort starting at 11:30 AM; tickets are $28.50.
 
Bonaire Dominates With Nine #1 Ratings Including #1 Dive Destination in the Caribbean/Atlantic

Once again the island of Bonaire has swept top honors while continuing its reign as one of the world’s top dive destinations: For the seventh consecutive year , Bonaire has been rated the Top Dive Destination Overall (Caribbean/Atlantic) in Scuba Diving magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2008.

Full-moon walk in Washington Park: June 6th
Take your rental truck and head north to Washington Park where you and your fellow participants will follow the Kasikunda and Lagadishi walking trails. Enjoy the magic of Bonaire under a full moon. The walk will begin at 7:00 PM and last two hours; participants to meet at the Visitor Center in the park.

1st IFCA Slalom World Championship: July 12th - 18th
 IFCA Windsurf Slalom World Championship Junior, Youth and Masters. This is a full-week event with exciting races at Lac Bay/Sorobon. Daily activities range from happy hours, entertainment at the beach, BBQs, and more. Professional, international, and local windsurfers will compete during this week. Registration fee to participate; free to spectators.

A Taste Of Bonaire: July 17th and August 9th
 Evenings to sample local cuisine at the Taste Of Bonaire events. Join in as the whole island turns out for these gastronomical affairs in Wilhelmina Park, which provide a great opportunity to sample food from Bonaire's most popular eateries, with each plate available for just a few dollars. And while you're munching away, enjoy the music and browse the many booths for local and international handicrafts and one-of-a-kind items.
