Cleaning with bleach

  • Warm water

Rinse it up

Ensure that you have finished your dishes and empty the sink. Once it’s done, rinse your sponge and sink to clean off leftover foods and loose debris.

Mix the materials

Mix a gallon of warm water and a quarter cup of bleach. You can multiply this measurement if you prefer to further sanitize your sink with a higher water level.

Soak the sponge

Soak the sponge in the mixture of bleach and water solution and leave it for around 5 minutes. When the time is up, drain the sink, rinse the sponge and let it dry.

As an alternative to bleach, you can also use white vinegar to clean your sponge. Just simply soak your dirty sponge in white vinegar for around 5 minutes then rinse it thoroughly.

Cleaning with microwave

If you want a quicker cleaning process, you can use a microwave.

  • Microwave-safe bowl

Follow these steps:

Rinse the sponge

Make sure that your sponge is free from large food particles before you put it into your microwave. You also have to ensure that there’s no plastic or metal on your sponge since it can be so dangerous.

Put into microwave

Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water and soak your sponge. Put the bowl and sponge in the microwave on high for one minute. Leave the sponge for some minutes before taking it out.

Once the water is cool, squeeze the water from the sponge and you can use it again.

Cleaning with dishwasher

The last method is to put your dirty sponge in a dishwasher which requires less amount of wark.
