Heat up your mixture

The mixture of water and white vinegar can break down the stains and eradicate the bacteria in the interior of the microwave. This is a good start to cleaning it when you haven’t done the job for a while.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Fill your microwave-safe bowl with water and add 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Mix the materials thoroughly.
  • Put the mixture in the microwave and heat it for around 3 minutes. You may need more time if 3 minutes are not enough to boil the mixture and create steam around the interior.
  • Before removing the mixture from the microwave, leave it for another 3 minutes. It allows the mixture to clean up the stains and kills bacteria. Keep in mind that the bowl can be quite hot, so always be careful in doing this step.

Once your microwave is empty, it’s time to clean up the turntable.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Mix dish soap and warm water in a plastic bowl.
  • Remove the turntable from the microwave carefully.
  • Dip a sponge into the cleaning mixture and wipe the turntable with the damp sponge.
