  • Soap or detergent
  • Acrylic paint
  • Newspaper or worn cloth
  • Acrylic sealer
  • Tape or stencils, if necessary

Prepare these tools:

  • Paintbrush
  • Hand brush
  • Foam brush

Follow these steps:

  • Remove the spots

Clean up your planter thoroughly and make sure that the visible spots are removed. For a terracotta planter, you need to soak it for around 24 hours and use a stiff brush to remove the spots and leave it overnight to let it dry completely.

  • Visualize your style

Before painting anything, you need to visualize how you want your planters to look like. Find some online inspirations created by creative homeowners.

  • Start painting

Now, you can start painting the first coat by using a large foam brush. To prevent the paint from dripping onto the floor, use a newspaper or worn cloth. If you want your planter to look plain. Let the paint dry completely. Then this is the last step of the project!
